“Innovation has never come through bureaucracy and hierarchy.
It has always come through individuals.”

– JOHN SCULLEY

We are facing the largest popular movement in modern history.

Blockchain, Bitcoin, and cryptocurrencies are becoming the standard-bearers of a post-2008 financial evolutionary need. A real revolution and innovation that originated from the bottom up to change finance, but that could end up influencing every aspect of our lives.

When we talk about blockchain, the first thing that comes to mind is Bitcoin with its crazy price movements. Money and exponential growth. These are the first associations that come to mind, right?

But Blockchain is not Bitcoin. It’s much more.

In my career as an investor, I have often been asked what I really thought of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. “Are they revolutionary?”

Frankly, Bitcoin certainly brings incredible innovation in the financial field, but the real asset is the technology on which it operates: the Blockchain.

To make a simile, talking about Bitcoin is like talking about Google in 2000, great innovation, incredible, but the real revolution was the Internet. Google is its product.

The same relationship exists between Bitcoin, crypto, and the underlying technology: the Blockchain.

What makes the Blockchain so special?

Imagine a world where you can exchange a good, a service, or information in a completely transparent and secure way, even without knowing who is on the other side.

Blockchain brings about this fundamental revolution: the possibility of transferring resources or data without the need for intermediaries to give us consent.

Without the need for “trust” between the parties.

A tool that allows operations between individuals “without trust,” precisely in the sectors where it was necessary until now.

An incorruptible, impartial, and accessible system to anyone regardless of social class, country of origin, sex, or skin color.

What is the Blockchain and how does it work?

Simply put, the Blockchain is a large digital register accessible to everyone at any time.

This register autonomously collects and stores all information on transactions carried out through it. At the current stage of development of this technology, it mostly contains economic transactions, but it will soon be expanded to many other sectors that we will see later in this article.

Every transaction, regardless of its nature, is digitally cataloged and validated in an intermediary-free and fast way. These features immediately made it interesting for the financial world.

But its potential is not limited to this only.

In which fields can it be used?

Practically all of them. There is no sector today that directly or indirectly cannot benefit from this technology. Potentially, everything can be transferred on or through the blockchain, even in the most unlikely or traditionally “elite” sectors of our modern societies.

Let’s take the educational sector, for example. Every attendance certificate, permission to leave, student profile, grades, diplomas, and degrees could be written on the blockchain and visible in real-time to anyone. The differentiating factor here is the impossibility of falsification. A simple example, but one that would save not only time but also money and resources.

Real estate sector. In this case, every lease or purchase contract could also be hosted on the blockchain. In this way, the role of the notary for this type of transaction would become practically irrelevant.

In fact, the blockchain would validate the transaction impartially, immediately, and at low cost (if not even tax-free in certain countries). All this could be done by making a simple transaction, as if it were a simple bank transfer.

Commercial sector. Every business could pay “taxes” on corporate profits in real-time, hire and fire employees in seconds, participate in tenders and auctions automatically, and above all, in a “healthy” way, with no more human selection bias.

This would cut costs for accountants, exorbitant fees for electronic payment intermediaries, banks, and the entire system used so far, which presents obvious holes and vulnerabilities.

Artistic sector. The creation, certification, and transfer of art works in an immutable and traceable way. Falsification would be impossible.

Companies. The possibility of a low-cost “listing”: it is possible to tokenize your company’s ownership (as one would do in the field of stocks) and allow for their purchase and sale in just a few seconds and at any time, including an immediate and continuous distribution of profits among the shareholders.

The ability to program the cash flow upstream: by doing so, all proceeds from sales made are divided in real-time between various tax obligations and distributed to all shareholders.

Private sector. The ability to have any real-world asset written on the blockchain implies that no one can steal it from you, as your “real ownership” of that asset is established by its recording on a transparent and immutable ledger.

Any unlawful theft would be immediately detected.

Voting. Any decision can be voted on digitally and, once again, free from falsifications.

In short, the only limit of this technology seems to be our imagination. This is what makes me see this technology as truly impactful.

    A sleeping giant.

For years, I have been studying, deepening, and discussing these issues on my YouTube channel in an analytical and objective way. The growth data of this reality and its fields of use are clear.

Today, all of this that we have seen together may seem like science fiction, and I realize that. But just as the internet seemed a few years ago, and even earlier the automobile, and so on in the past, every so often there is a revolution that profoundly changes society. For me, blockchain is one of these, but we will only see it in the next 5-10 years.
